of course, if you are not from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, or prefer an itinerary from other than your home airport, simply get to these airports by any means, car, bus, train or fly. If flying, why not use Qantas or Virgin frequent flyer points or there are many cheap fares between Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne, now that Rex is flying the triangle from mid December. Sydney to Brisbane fares from $69 including a checked bag. Go to www.Rex.com.au
You should plan on being at the international airport, no less than 3 hours before departure, preferably more, or why not overnight near the airport ?
IF FULLY VACCINATED AUSTRALIANS CAN'T LEAVE AUSTRALIA DUE TO BORDERS NOT BEING OPEN, A FULL REFUND* OF YOUR PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE, ASAP WITHIN 15 BUSINESS DAYS.
ALL OUR FARES INCLUDE 1 CHECKED BAG UP TO 30 KGS (WITH USUAL SIZE RESTRICTIONS). IF YOU WANT TO CHECK IN ANOTHER BAG, SUCH AS A SKI OR SNOWBOARD BAG, UP TO 15KGS, THE SECOND BAG IS AUD$99, NOT EACH WAY, BUT FOR THE WHOLE INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT ITINERARY.
Yes, date changes can always be made, but the cost difference will be significant, probably $500 minimum per person.
For example, you noticed the itinerary Brisbane to LA departing 4 January 2022, returning 19 January 2022 & you like this itinerary, but you would ideally like another night in the USA, you'd be much better looking at the itinerary departing on the same flights 5 January 2022, returning 21 January 2022.
1. What if for some reason, the flights do not operate ?
If the flight out of Australia does not operate within 3 days of original date, you will be offered, alternative flights or you can get a full refund* of payments made. If your flight home is cancelled for any reason, you will be offered alternative flights.
(* if pay by credit card, some banks & credit card companies, no longer refund the merchant fee which can be up to 3%; we can't refund to you, until the airline refunds us, which sometimes can take a few weeks)
2. What happens if I pay for flights & for some reason I cannot go ?
Any payment made is non-refundable, but we may be able to do a name change for a minimal fee.
3. What happens if I have already departed Australia & need to come home earlier or later ?
Flights can always be changed, it's just a matter of costs & finding seat(s). Travel insurance, may cover this, depending on the reason.
4. Do I have to take out travel insurance ?
Insurance is not compulsory, but is highly recommended. We do not sell insurance, but there are many policies out there, some cheap & some not so cheap, available online, or through health funds or insurance companies. Always read the fine print, especially on claim limits for luggage, hospital visits, car accidents & of course covid 19, etc.
5. Do I need a Covid 19 vaccination ?
YES !! At this stage, you will have to be fully vaccinated to fly internationally & also have a PCR or possibly an antigen test, less than 72 hours before departure. This may change & is totally outside our control.
